The really big danger is in the first term and the last term. It can cause you to go into early labor or miscarriage (from what I have read). However my sister worked at a nursing home during all three of her pregnancy's and had to lift and move people all day. Her three kids went full term. So you might be fine but you could run into some complications it probably just depends on you and your health. Dont over exhurt yourself if you feel that you cant lift anything anymore then take a break. Talk to you employer make sure they understand that you will be needing breaks every so often. If you dont think they will cooperate than get a doctors note.

if you are having a healthy non high risk pregnancy you should be able to go about yur normal life however 50lbs. is a lot and usually around 20 weeks they would give you lifitng restrictions around 20 lbs. or so. Talk to your Dr. more abou your situation b/c everyones is differant and he might have a better idea for you maybe you job could find yu something else to do during this time. But don't stress yourself out it is VERY unlikely that you'd miscarry b/c of lifting heavy objects. You MC b/c there is something wrong with the baby and that is out of your control so don't let anyone get you worked up over that. I'd talk to your dr. if your still concerned.

As soon as you find out you are pregnant, you can't lift that kind of weight anymore. It's very dangerous.
When I got pregnant, I was working at this place where I had to be on my feet all day and lift heavy things. My doctor told me I couldn't work there anymore

You shouldnt have anything to worry about. Your doctor will put you on a weight restriction if he feels concerned. I am a CNA and lifted 8 hours a day on people weighing up to 300lbs. You'll be fine. Let your doctor know that your concerned, and definetaly if youve been having any pain during or from the lifting.

I do not think you wanted to that lifting job.. because it can hurt you and you can get your back injury and you can get miscarriage on that... You should take easy... You should explain to your manger that you can not lift that heavy stuff.. maybe you can transfer to another dept for now....
When you need to stop is when you feel like you going past out or when you start to hurt.. but you should be lifting anything over 50pounds...
Be careful.... Take care

The first trimester is the easiest to lose the baby, you shouldn't be lifting anything heavy at all in pregnancy, and especially if you are in your first trimester. I would advice you to talk to your boss and ask him/her if there is anything else you can do that wouldn't involve the lifting. Or... find a new job!
Good luck.

if you are very early in your pregnancy (like first trimester) you can continue to do your work as usual without risking anything. but you should get tested and figure out if you are or not and talk with your boss about possibilities for still being able to work during your pregnancy. maybe you can switch to another position or have someone lift the heavy stuff for you. by law you are entitled to keep your job and if you do have to switch positions they aren't allowed to pay you less than what you make now. talk with your doctor and see what he/she says.

you should stop lifting right away and if it is a problem with your boss then talk to your Dr. he should be able to give you note stating that you are not able to lift things heavier than 20 lbs. at the most

Don't worry about what your associate is doing because everybody is different. Tell your doctor what YOU do, and ask him when he thinks you should stop. He will know more about any special risks you may be facing.
