It irritates the hell out of my kids. But anime IS Japanese cartoons. What's wrong with that?

in a way, see its the art style that that 'cartoon' is in. So if you built a skyscrapper and someone called it a building would you be annyed, kinda. Some people do anime art and if you said hey good cartoon drawing they would be upset cause of the style diffrance. To us its all the same but its not really when considering the trem. On top of that if you go to japan youll see that the anime is popular with everyone, not only a kid thing.

Yes I would be annoyed if you called Anime japanese cartoons...So annoyed in fact that I'll call the goverment and tell them your going to expose their plot to take over the world. Just because you called anime what it really is.

Not at all. I do think they ARE Japanese cartoons. It's just the choice of word. Some people are annoyed when you call a pick-up truck "car". You can call Manga "Japanese Comics" while you're at it.

I wouldn't get annoyed. Anime techincally IS Japanese cartoons, but the proper name for it is 'anime'. I love it all the same.

actually...yes. first of all, doesn't "anime" sound much cooler and more sophisticated, and second, when you say "cartoon" you make me think of some annoying, immature crap like kids next door where everyone has like exaggerated bodyparts and four fingers either for the sake of it being funny or maybe just underpaid artists. not that all american animated shows are cheap, crappy, and cartoonish. Big ups to Avatar: the Last Airbender, in my opinion, one of the best ANIME ever.

Yes,I would you pompus little infestation.Anime just ain't japanese cartoons for us true anime fans it is a way of life
more so for aspiring anime artists.You obviously don't understand what anime truly is.It is about 300 times better animated than any of the things america has come up with.While we had the original stupid cartoons they had had manga,and anime way cooler than what we had. not to mention cartoons are just for kids,"Anime" is meant for all ages from kids to adults, cartoons are meant simply to be funny and somewhat cool.
Anime is meant to be bad@$$ with blood,killing,war,and hatred.

But ya I really don't care what you think because I am one of the few that knows the "TRUTH"

No, but when you do, it makes you sound dated.

Just so you know, the word anime progressed as so:
Japanese animation-> Japanime-> anime.
