Not if you don't eat them at more than one or two meals a month ... and only if the 'hot dogs' are the ONLY 'nitrites' you are consuming. "Nitrites' can be extremely harmful to both you and your baby ... but one or two meals a month would'nt hurt much at all ...

Personally, I only eat Hebrew National hot dogs because they are kosher, all-beef dogs...not the pig lips and chicken hips components you'll find in other hot dogs.
Not sure if the nitrates in some hot dogs could be harmful, but my advice is this: eat a healthy diet for your baby.
A hot dog every now and then won't damage the baby, but don't overdo it.

My Dr told me to stay away from hot dogs and lunch meat. She said if i know that turkey is 100% fresh i can eat that. But when i was pregnant with my 1st child 12 years ago, i ate whatever i wanted and hes very healthy, smart and happy. I would go with whatever your doctor says to do! good luck to you

Well, one every once in a while probably isn't a big deal.
I gave them up entirely while I was pregnant, though, because they have so much sodium and nitrates in them, plus, they are big candidates for harboring bacteria that could cause botulism. If you do eat them, make sure they are very hot to ensure any bacteria has been killed off. (Same for luncheon meat - nuke it before you eat it.)

theres a bacteria called Listeria (I think thats how its spelt) Google it and it will tell you what you should and shouldnt eat during pregnancy. Things like processed meats, soft serve icecream and mayonaise are some. Have a look its quite interesting and congrats on the baby best of luck

as long as you cook them till there hot through and through they are fine just don't take them from the package and eat them straight from fridge same thing with lunch meats you can put it in the oven pan cook or microwave through and through it should kill the Listeria bacteria in it if any is there.

I think that they are probably fine in moderation, but they do have a lot of nitrates in them, which isn't real good for you!
