I am working with a project of Autocad file. The file has multiple layers in there, and in a layer, i need to add/remove some objects, but I could not find how to delete/add. It will clear out everything if I try to delete it. For example, a building has lots of room number. In one room I need to delete the number and expand the room next to it to make one room only. how can I do that, please help

I agree with Surveyor.
Here's a related tip:
Sometimes those blocks freak out when exploded. Attribute text could make all the room numbers say "room_number" and dimensions could wake up on the wrong side of ugly.
So sometimes I do this:
- open properties box to find block name
- go way off to the side
(or to original drawing read-only)
- draw a line in the middle of nowhere angled of to anywhere.
- insert, on your end point, a fresh block of the accused name.
- explode this block.
- erase parts or make changes needed
(also fix layers or colors)
- then make the good stuff back into a block,
using the same name, click yes to redefine.
- all existing copies of that block are now fixed.

highlight what you want to remove and push the eraser(located in task bar to the left or above dwg) if you remove something you want to keep push the go back arrow. You can use the layers to make it easier to select certain things with out other things getting in your way.

It seems that these objects may be a block. If when you select one entity, other entities are highlighted, then explode the block. Then you may add or delete entities.
