It's not Bavarian, never has been, although that error does not even stop US companies who should know better from calling themselves "bavarian"

Buick Motor Works. BMW is an old General Motors label that was sold to a German family dedades ago. I had a BMW LeSabre when I was in college. It had a 455 in it. DRANK the gas. The Park Avenue is a good model.
