I am currently looking for open source software projects but I don't know where to start.
I am open to learning any new languages for the projects. I'm pretty much looking to gain experience in programming.
I have a background in C, PHP, SQL, HTML/XHTML, and CSS.
I am open to any suggestions.

best way would be to contribute to a group who's software you use.
is there any opensource software you like using? and would like to see changed or made better? You can also peruse sourceforge for different projects that might interest you.

What do you employ? commence by utilising sending malicious program comments -- if something you opt for crashes build it your self and notice what the undertaking is. i don't be responsive to approximately Synfig. i ended utilising it because of the fact it crashed plenty and that i could no longer decide how they have been doing issues (somebody asked the thank you to pass a rectangle the different day. I shared my old workaround on a similar time as affirming if I wasn't so bored with swearing Yahoo could could desire to delete this answr). in case you prefer to contribute consult with and digital mail human beings. of path you run into issues. absolutely everyone does. i'm having a undertaking compiling -- yet no longer working -- libre workplace.you would keep in touch till now you be responsive to it.

You could start by looking on sites like codeproject ect...

and i would search google for things like "Community Open Source" or "Unfinished open source" or similar

Or even start your own.. eg... Find some software that is generally very expensive to buy and start working on an open source version of it. Soon either something else will come to you, or you will finish it... either way....
