I dreamt last night I had been sent back in time with a device. I had to activate the device and it would notify those in 2007 I was successful and had arrived. After awhile I realized they had no way to call me back. I was in July 1963, seemingly forever.
Now I know you cant change anything but I was really upset and I started telling everyone about the Kennedy Assasination ( I should have just gone to Dealy Plaza and set up a bunch of cameras), future elections, history to come.
I went to my parent's place and gave my mom and dad a huge hug (they are both gone now).
So here is the question. My attitude aside, what would you do if you were suddenly and permenently plunked in the middle of 1963. How would you make money? You certainly would be rich knowing what you know. Bet on triple crown races? In vest in G.E. maybe Xerox? But you need money NOW or you will be homeless and need to get established.
What would you do?

Make money, lots and lots, and very quickly to... tell you how.... I am making some assumptions: I know everything I know now; I am transported dressed just as I am at this moment: pants, t-shirt, socks, sneaks, glasses (contacts for the fortunate), watch, wallet, cellphone; I am transported to an urban center in the USA... under those conditions, I'd make a fortune within a week.

I show up at either an American Express or American Airlines office produce my respective gold card. Because they have never seen this plastic credit card with their logo on it, I am referred to upper management, who asks me to tell them what I know. That meeting will result in contracts and within hours my financial future is secure. The next day will be a visit to the telephone company to show them some future. That cell phone will end up costing them $100 Million... take half in stock the rest in cash which you flood into IBM and Sperry ... you're Bill Gates by 1969...

hmm. being an avid sc-fi reader it surprises me i've never considered that matter for myself. 1963.. i was 9, so i don't recall the history vividly. at my current age, 52, finding a job might be on the difficult side. i have spent 1/2 my life in the lawn care field, a career formerly occupied by teen boys.
i suppose my best option would to go into sales, and with advance knowledge, leap aboard the next "big thing" that hits the market. i'd somehow feel reluctant to take full use of my pre-knowledge for fear of creating a time paradox. whatever steps i take in the past will surely affect the future, so i feel a need to be as low-key as possible, yet do more than merely survive. tho i'm not a believer in Karma, i'd still be apt to consider how i might impact the world's future by cheating my way to success.

I'd try to find Forrest Gump. He makes money without trying. Maybe I could have got in on the Bubba Gump shrimping business. I'll tell you what I wouldn't do, be a hippie or do drugs. And fyi, Xerox stock has been losing money the last 10 years, along with Kodak. (I live in Rochester NY, where both of the companies are.)

Go to a farm and start working. If they couldn't pay then I'd work for food until I was able to get a job. There was plenty off work in those days for guys because it was all bull work.
