It was Tim Henman for quite a few years until Andy Murray started to improve. He's ranked at #13 and soon will be in the top 5 by the end of the year I predict. There are no women players anywhere near the top of singles or doubles.

Has to be Andy Murray - he's not only ranked the highest at 13, but is the only one consistently playing in top-level tournaments and beating top players.

andy murray definitely. hes on the rise.
he's been getting very far in the tournaments hes been entering lately. he's got the skills, so i think its just a matter of time before he racks up enough points to move up on the atp ranks. i'm pretty sure he's ranked 13th currently, give or take two or three, which isn't bad at all.
there's no other brit ranked higher than him, so my vote goes to murray.
he's been making roddick work really hard, and roddicks ranked third in the world right now. i think its just a matter of time before murray makes a good name for himself.

Andy Murray, at a guess.
As he's now in the world's top 20 he has to be quite good...
