Appraisals aren't billed by the size of a house. The requirements for an appraisal are the same for most structures. Obviously a larger home would involve more ,but basically they are the same. We charge between $250 to $300 for a basic financing appraisal. FHA or commercial appraisals run more,depending on the amount of work.Your lender should tell you in advance if it's for financing. If it's for other reasons,check with your local state website to find an appraiser in your area.

appraisals in California cost between 300-500 [my husband is an appraiser] as for Missouri, not sure...but thought I would let you know what it costs here
