I lift weights 6 days a week. 3 days I do upper body and 3 days lower body. I take 1 day a week off. I rotate upper, lower, upper, lower, off, upper, lower. I lift to get tone and not loose or gain weight or muscle. Should I cut back and only lift 4 days a week and do cardiovascular work the other 2 and keep 1 day off? I just want to be more fit and to feel better. I am a 25 year old male and weigh about 160. I am 5'8. I enjoy working out. Please help.

Yeah, I would cut back to four days if I were you. Optimally you would be doing at least 30 (most trainers recommend 45-60min.)minutes of cardio 3 times a week for heart health. If you want to lift on your cardio days that's not a problem. I go to the gym 5 days a week and do 45-60 of cardio and then rotate upper and lower body after the cardio.

Brian.. Try working out less. You'll be surprised how much better it is. I was afraid to do it, thinking I would lose size etc. actually it's not true. I gained in strength and size and feel like I have more time to do other things.
I do this:
Chest/Biceps
Legs
cardio
Back/Triceps
Shoulders
cardio You can actually do your cardio the same day as Chest and Back and free up another day. I'm 5'8" and 185. At my age(53) That's where I want to stay.
Just eat healthy. You'll see a big difference. I've been lifting 30+ years.

6 days is way too much. Your body needs rest to grow.
