Tell me about it. My initial impressions, from people I've talked to, have been that Charlotte is a great city. Lots to do, very clean, and friendly people.

What do you think of Charlotte? (I live in Kentucky and have never been to North Carolina, so this will be new for me--spending 4-6 days down there.) Be objective; tell me the great and not-so-great things about your city. I really look forward to visiting. Thanks!

GINGER: You're right. ANYTHING (well, almost...) beats Kentucky. I should know, I live here.

Depending on what part of Charlotte you are going to. Every city has a bad area. The areas of Charlotte I went to are nice and beautiful. I love Charlotte. I also went to an area that wasn't so good but hey, I have a bad area in the city I live in too. North Carolina is a beautiful state.

I've lived here all my life. The downtown area has really been revitalized in the past 10-15 years with lots of hotels, clubs, restaurants and a new basketball arena. I don't know how much time you'll have to sightsee, but there is lots to do. If you come later in March you can visit Carowinds, the big amusement park on the NC/SC border.

The worst thing about the city is the public transportation system and the traffic. You would do best to rent a car and buy a map.

Hope this helped...email me if you want more info.

I lived in North Carolina for two years with my husband beautiful state, we went to Charlotte for a couple days once, we went to Lowe's motor speedway for a race. And visited the shopping area. From what I could see it was very clean and freindly. A nice place.

I think it's great. I moved here a year ago and have enjoyed it very much. There are things to do, but no where near as much as larger cities. It doesn't have the crazy busy issues of larger cities, so that's a big plus. All around it's a good place to be...

Charlotte is a dirty, ugly place to me. I lwas born and raised in NC (about 1-1/2 hours from Charlotte) and any time I ever went there, I hated it.

Lots of crime.....LOTS of it

And I think the city itself is ugly.........
