He only seeks and approves policies that make six figure income earners richer. Meanwhile, a dollar six years ago will get you about 70 cents of product today. High paying jobs are vanishing making it far more challenging for individuals to climb up to the middle class economic rungs.

Why do working class people support the enemy of the working class?

Your thoughts please.

Chi guy, here is the scoop, supply side economics's has never worked. Give the tax breaks to the rich and they just bank it. It always results in a recession as it has now. It would be a full depression if it wasn't for a war time economy, pumping it up. However it is the already rich that are benefiting from this also. Bill Clinton raised the tax's of these rich people. He reinvested it in infrastructure and this created jobs. These people now working from that wasn't from the Reagan era now had money to spend and they did, which created more jobs, this gave more people money to spend which created even more jobs to the point where everyone was working that wanted to. This is called a consumer driven economy and it works. The rich end up with more money in their pockets, the government ends up with more revenue, It is a win, win, situation. In answer to your question democrats are better economist then repuglicans any day of week, month and year.

I make more than 80K a year. So I can't directly answer your question; however, I can proffer a different take....

Has it worked? That's the real question... is the Bush economic strategy working?

Unemployment is lower than during the Clinton Administration. Wages are rising. Inflation, unfortunately, will be rising too. Seems like the plan has been working. Home ownership is at an all time high. Of course, alot of those home owners have adjustable rate mortgages, so they may foreclose if the interest rates and inflation rise too quickly.

So...can we really point the finger at one person and say he or she is to blame for all the success and woes of the current time period? I think not.

With the Dems in control of congress, one must begin to worry about our economic future. After all, the only place to go when you're at the top is to the bottom. Of course, the Reps caused a lot of spending frustration with the American public. Small government appeared to be tossed out the window rather quickly in the early years of this new Millennium, and we will have to wait and see what the fallout is. So far, his plan appears to be working quite well.

Unemployment in the U.S. is at record lows. Interest rates have stayed low for longer than one can remember. The stock market has climbed past 12,000 in the last year and has hit record highs this last year. Home ownership among minorities is at an all time high. Today the government spends more money per child on education and more money to combat poverty than it ever has. Small business ownership among minorities as at an all time high. When Bush took office he inherited a recession that came about from the tech boom busting and 9 months later 9/11 further threatened the economy. The economies of India and China have been exploding, causing energy prices to soar and still our economy has grown for over 40 straight months. He has vetoed one bill since he has taken office and it had nothing to do with the economy, or taxes. This government spends money on the country like crazy. What do you have to complain about. The facts?

well because of the Tax Cuts and additional child tax credits, on the people below 20k a year virtually pay nothing, so perhaps the poor should be republican based on your argument.

And NO democrat in the last 40 years has delivered a middle class tax cut. Clinton said he would cut taxes, won his first election and raised taxes on the middle class. Carter Raised Taxes. And under Reagan the effective taxes on the wealthy increased 9 percent while cutting taxes on the middle and lower classes.

There is no doubt that struggling through the middle class is difficult, but once you breakthrough, then in Cali you can lead a fairly good life.

So people if you like to keep your money, you Must wake up and vote Republican.

"Quoth the Raven" is right. No wonder he got 9 thumbs down.

This post assumes that only the rich prosper under Bush's economic policies. This is absurd.

First, if the rich do benefit -- why should they not? -- it is because they pay an overwhelming majority of taxes.

Secondly, when unemployment is low, stock market is high, millions of new jobs created, it's the middle class who benefit and the poor who can join the middle class.

Your antagonistic (and Marxist) question is more about dislike of the President than anything else. Atleast have the courage to ADMIT IT.

I work in heavy construction and my wife works part time as a nurse...and we both loved our tax cuts.( we do not make 6 figures) We also know the benefits when you give anyone who pay taxes a tax cut ,it is a GOOD thing for all. Punishing (taxing at a high rate) people who work hard and then turn around and give our money to someone who is unproductive, should be a crime. Pres. Bush's pro-growth economic policies and his strong stance on the war against radical Islam, are his 2 greatest achievements as Pres.

Well since poorer people mostly shop a Walmart which makes everything that they need to buy a lot cheaper they only need about 70 cents on the dollar today to get everything they need. Globalization makes everything cheaper for everyone & with Bush's economic policy keeping inflation low it also keeps the price of all the products poorer people buy cheaper. Or we could go back to the President Carter years of hyper inflation & hyper unemployment if you'd like to go back to Democrat economics?

I am one of the under 80K . I don't support his economic policies, except for tax cuts. Bush is a moderate rep not Conservative. He is no Ronald Reagan, that's for sure.

Yes. It has nothing to do with my political alignment. It has everything to do with my economic theory/beliefs.

I do not buy into the idea that government can do better taking care of the working class than a free market can do.

I make WAY less than 80K.
