Roaches are the oldest, most adaptable living insect. You can get some borax, boric acid powder and/or another stronger liquid. Use a face mask if you use a liquid and gloves. Make sure you read all the instructions on the insect killer label. Paint all along the baseboards with the roach killer. Boric acid powder usually comes in a bottle with a tip on it and you can just take off the quarter round and squirt it in the cracks all around the walls.
I go one step further and paint all around the bottom section of the house outside and inside. Then make sure that you don't have roach food around -- cardboard boxes, etc.
I don't know how you can get a roach in the dishwasher, but, if you can pull it out from under the cabinet without doing damage, you can paint the outside of the dishwasher too.
Be sure to follow the disposal instructions for all gloves, cans, masks, etc. The waste can be toxic.

Go to Home Depot or some other home center and buy the gallon size of Ortho bug killer. It has a small tube and sprayer attachment. It works great like professional stuff and is handy to have around the house. You need to spray under all the appliances (try to pull them out away from the wall) and under the house, etc...

I've had good luck with Combat - it takes a few days to get them all but once gone it will do the trick.
And sometimes spaying will chase some of the hiders out in the open

When I see a roach it seriously ruins my entire day. Get rid of any newspapers. Don't leave any food out ever! Call yer exterminator again and complain in a really sweet voice and maybe they'll come back and give it a 2nd dose.

Eww!Run the rinse cycle on the dishwasher!Sanitize that thing.
They breed like crazy. There will be hundreds of them somewhere.Put down boric acid behind things(where the pets won't get into it-it'll kill them). They will eat, take it back to the nest and die,as with the others will die.Good luck.
