An abstract is a form of a summary. Not quite identical to a summary but quite similar.

An abstract is a piece of art that is not a particular thing at all, it is a bunch of lines, swishes, and/or shapes. It is drawn on paper or a flat object. I don't understand how that is a science project.

I believe it is just a summary of what you are presenting, including results yeilded.
