I am a 40somthing geek with severe insomnia. No prescriptions or over-the-counter sleep pills work. So, now I have found marijuana and I sleep like a baby. Since I am new to this, the pot comes in 1oz bags and it is dried and pressed, is this normal? Leaves, stems, buds, seeds and all are included (but very few stems). This isn't hash is it? ALSO, smoking it is really really hard on this non-smoker so does anyone know of a really good recipe for pot that I could consume (eat instead of smoke) and still get the strong effect for sleeping? I don't do anyother drugs - legal or illegal. I just want this so I can sleep and relax. Thank you so much for your help! It is truly appreciated. PS A recipe you have *personally* used/baked/tasted would be appreciated. Thanks a million! Cindy

Since the smoke is the real issue here, and the THC is the goal, buying a vaporizer would be your best bet. With less or no smoke formed, and a cooler temperature, the irritating or harmful effects of smoke and associated toxicants are greatly reduced or even eliminated.

Brownies take time to make, but are sweet and tasty. For liquid tea, there are little metal containers, for loose tea, that you can stuff your pot in (no, it's not hash), and soak in boiled water for 5 minutes.
Anything you smoke acts faster than anything you consume by mouth, but eating or drinking your maryjane will produce a longer, slightly milder effect.
Smoking the stuff is hard on everyone, whether you smoke tobacco or not. Marijuana contains five times the tar as tobacco. so it's really not good for your lungs. Fortunately,.
people don't usually smoke 20--30 joints per day, as is done with cigarettes. Smoking through a water pipe softens the "blow" from the harshness of inhaling, as suggested by another answer. If you can get something called "hash oil", with that you only need to take one or two hits, to get a strong effect. But it might not be easily available nowadays, like it was 40 years ago.

Hi. No that doesn't sound like hash, and the seeds, stems etc are normal. How have you been smoking it? There are several different kinds of ways to smoke it. It's usually harsher in a pipe. But a bong if you dont fill it up too much can be rather smooth. Also I recommend removing all stems and seeds of course before smoking. Especially if rolling in a paper make sure to break up the weed a lot. Even in a pipe or bong because it will allow it to burn easier, allowing you to be able to take small easy hits. Sorry that I have no recipes to offer.

I am unsure of the quality of the weed you are purchasing. I think the easiest method would be to combine the ounce with a stick of butter in a pot of boiling water. Boil for about 10 minutes, remove from heat, then place the whole thing in the fridge. The butter will rise to the top of the water as it cools, and most the plant debris will sink. Then you remove the butter from the water and place in your freezer. the butter will have absorbed the THC. You can then use the butter as you would regular butter. You may have to experiment little with the dosage.
THC is not water soluble it requires heat or alcohol to release it from the plant material.

You could try baking it in a brownie mix. Pick out all stems and seeds then grind it in a food processor. Add about 3 tablespoons to mix - stir well & bake as directed on box. Eat & Sleep like a baby.

well what you can do is make brownies same as you usually but just throw in some weed. Can't even taste it. And if its dry then its not very good. You want sticky weed with very little seed. Hash is brown and sticky so no i don't think that its hash.

hey man after the pot starts wearing down you can start geting a litle tired .but if you eat it the afect will take a much longer time.if the smoke barthers you you can buy something called a vaporizer and that might be little less harmful on the lungs or a cheaper way might be to buy something for athzma called (primetin)it helped me. enjoy girl!cheers

I have heard of people that make it into a tea. They just add some to boiling water, and then use a colander to take all that out and drink the tea. Honestly, I couldn't assure you that it works because I've never tried it, but you have nothing to loose. If it works, then you don't have to smoke it anymore. Good luck!
