i was wondering if the only way to charge your ipod shuffle (2 gen) is to hook it up to your computer. and i also need to know does it cost you everytime you download a song from itunes, or is it free if you have an ipod because on the apple website it says the DOWNLOAD is free but it costs you 99 cents per song...so does this apply to the new shuffle users aswell?

You can buy power adapaters from stores like best buy or wally world so that you can charge from your car or a wall adapter.

Songs on iTunes do cost money. If you own a cd you can rip it to itunes and put it on your ipod.

First off, you can use a computer or a Play Station 2. Second, yes it does cost 99 Cents per song. Sorry. You could use a program called LimeWire. www.limewire.com
it's free downloads. You can import them to your iTunes Library, and then add them to your iPod Shuffle
I hope everything works out for you.
