I don't just like the name because it's pretty - I like it because it has Greek origins (and I am half greek), and also is a more common name in the Slavic countries (and my husband is Slovenian). It sounds great with our last name, and also fits well with my husband and my names (both of which are fairly uncommon). I have researched the name - it means "wealthy" or "queenly"...
My main concern is what most have commented on - I can see how young kids might mistake it for diarrhea, or use that as a nickname. That's what is holding me back - otherwise, I love the name, and think it's perfect for our child, based on our ethnic backgrounds and family names.

Oh, and we didn't grow up in the US, so I never saw the tv show Daria on MTV, so I don't know what it's about. I've heard of it, though...
