How well are the Rockets doing now, and do you think they can compete against better teams like phoenix and mavericks when Yao comes back? Or will they be better and the TEAM to beat? Championship? Finals? Or 2005 Repeat?

The Rockets have played better then anyone expected this season and it is all due to TMAC taking over the team. The Rockets were an above average with both TMAC and Yao on the floor together. Since Yao broken leg a few weeks ago the Rockets have been surprisingly solid as Alston, Battier, and Juwan Howard have all stepped up nicely and TMAC has elevated his game to MVP levels.
The answer of how good will the be once Yao returns is difficult at best. Will the team continue to be up tempo on offensive and stingy on defense or will the offense slow down to get Yao involved and once again be a bit softer on D?
The truth is until TMAC and Yao find a way to co-exist in the offense they are nothing more then an above average team in the loaded Western Conference with the MAVS SUNS JAZZ & SPURS leading the way; all of whom will have home court advantage in a playoff series with the Rockets.

All the way man! Rockets lover right here. Just wait untill Yao gets back, Rockets will beat Dallas, Phonix, Spurs, Detroit, any team. There is no way anyone can stop them. If they doubleteam Yao, Rockets have great 3 point shooters and tmac will be open. If they dont double Yao, he will dominate anyone as he is now the most dominant center in the league. So either way, it sucks for the opposition>.Anything from a championship will be a disappointment. GO ROCKETS!!!!

Right now Rockets are the 5th seed...if they stay there they will lose the first round vs jazz

first they might get beaten in the second round but if they play really very good they can make it to the NBA Finals
