This has consequences for us all!It is always easier to hold people if a law made such as holding without charge is in effect, for example I who say what I feel , am I exposing myself to being labeled a terorist or enemy combatant[with words!] and liable to being arrested and kept in heavens knows how long or where until what? I will also tell you these basic frredoms that were a symbol of the Unted States are being eroded under the pretense of security!Did u know that the vatican condemned the declaration of independence as wicked, and called the constitution of the U.S.A.a satanic document? by Avro Manhattan ,the dollar and the Vatican, Ozark Book Publishers ,1988,p.26 the very fabric of our freedom is being atacked but in such a way as not to make it noticable! Hugs. God help us!!!

It definitely has a consequence for me, because it makes me more skeptical of my own government. If they could give one drop of evidence that torture and coerced interrogations made this country safer it would be one thing. Where they really drop the ball is on intelligence, like getting out in foreign regions - putting spies on the ground - and finding out what is going on. Their solution is, after an attack, to round up whoever was within 300 miles, keep them without charges, and torture them. Then it makes people like the guy who posted above think they are "tough." They'd be tough if they used their brains. Every time they get caught torturing someone, a hundred more potential terrorists are encouraged. It's easier for people to justify violence against us, however wrongful, if they think we are a violent police state. That endangers me - and you, and the guy who thinks winning a WW had anything to do with torture.

This is the most dangerous power that any government agency could ever hold. Anyone could be a suspected terrorist in these times. If you open your mouth enough, even here on Yanswers, there might come a time when our fearless leaders determine that you are aiding the terrorists.

Click on that link to see how their version of the PATRIOT ACT and the MILITARY COMMISSIONS ACT worked for them. Think we're not becoming a banana republic? Just wait a couple more years.
