When i do ballet, its balances me. In Ice Skating, you have to have good balance to skate on ice. So yes, it does help.

I think ballet helps you with everything physical. It helps with your balance, it helps with finding your center, your arms, your musicality, pretty much everythign that has to do with ice skating except for the feet. It helps keep your body in shape and you work the right muscles to help you while your skating. You can work on your turns, and alot of other moves you use in ice skating as well.

Yes is DOES help you tremendously. When you really think about it, figure skating and ballet are very much alike. Similar moves. When doing ballet, you are learning the correct agility, balance, grace, flexibility, and strenght needed for skating. Do it, you'll thank yourself later.

Yes is it true. Serious ice skaters are in fact required to take ballet. I was one of those when I was younger. Ballet teaches you movement, that's I think is the main reason. It also teaches you grace and builds strength at the same time.
