It could mean twins. Or maybe you are further along than you think.

Have you gained a lot of weight or is the doctor saying your stomach is larger than normal? If you are bigger in weight than you should watch what you are eating. When you are preganant you should only consume 500 extra calories per day for a single fetus. Those calories should come from proteins, grains, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. I added in a salad or soup with my meals to get the extra food without adding in junk. If you are larger in size in your stomach area you may be preganant with more than one child or preganant with a large child. I gained 28 pounds with my preganancy my son was 8 pounds 4 ounces born at 38 weeks. I was down 15 pounds when I walked out of the hosipital. All my weight gain was mostly from the baby. I always measured on the large side due to the size of my child. Above average weight and length equal larger measurements.

A couple of different possibilities,... 1. Twins (unlikely though) 2. You conceived earlier than normal, or 3. you could just be like me and have a large to date baby

This same thing happened to me . I used fertility drugs and know the exact date of conception, so I know my due date, but it was moved up a week b/c the baby was abotu 5 days larger than it should be

My friend went through the same thing. We talked about and "joked" that she was pregnant with twins, or she was farther along than she thought. Well, turns out she WAS pregnant with twins. Sadly, she lost one of the babies around 19 weeks. She was informed that she had what happens in 1 in every 35,000 pregnancies which is commonly referred to as TRAP (Twin Reverse Arterial Profusion). They didnt see the twin on the first few ultrasounds, because it had no heartbeat. PLEASE get your doctor to do more tests, as it will put your mind at ease on why you are big for your gestational age.

Are you over eating for two? Its not that uncomon for women in their first pregnancy to gain a little extra weight.
It could also be twins, but at 7 wks your doctor should have noticed by now.

I don't quite understand your question. If your doctor told you that you are bigger than you should be, than I would guess that you are bigger than you are suppose to. Are you asking if there is a possibilies of muliple babies, that maybe the cause of the weight gain, but I would think that your doctor would of been able to tell you that when you were there.

You never know until you actually have an ultrasound. It could be a possibilty that you could have given your doctor a wrong date of your last period, or that you had a period after you were already pregnant...it happens!! It could also be that you could be carrying multiple fetuses, but dont jump to conclusions until youve had your ultrasound...only that can tell. Good Luck, and congrtulations on your new coming baby!!!!

well just becasue your fundal height is bigger than it should be doesnt nescessarly mean anything. it is more of a guideline. if you continue to be bigger than you should be he will probably do an ultra sound to make sure you arent having twins, to see what the baby is measuring at (it could be you are further along then you think)

I would guess your due date could be off.
But, don't worry - I was big with both of my children. Honestly, I just gained too much weight with my first. With my second - my stomach got so huge, so fast - I looked 7 months pregnant when I was only a couple months.
Both of my children are average and healthy.

It depends on what he meant by that. If the baby is measuring bigger, then you may be further along than you thought. But it's hard to tell by that little bit of info.

It could be twins. It could be that you are further along than you think. It could be that your uterus is tilted.

My doctor said the same thing at my first appointment for both of my pregnancies. The first time I was further along than I thought. The second time my uterus was tilted a little forward.
