computer crashed whilst on vista, put windows xp back on but at a cost of losing network connection, ie unable to go on internet am using another computer. can anyone help.

Download current drivers for your network hardware from the manufactures webpage.

Use the "add a network place" wizard on "my network places" Unplug everything like your modem, router, etc and plug back in.. Sometimes that helps.

Check network driver in Device Manager. If the network driver has yellow question mark, get the driver and install it.

have you got the cd rom that came with your mainboard?
if so explore the cd and look for lan driver , then install it you will be up and running in no time.
if not use your friends pc and goto mainboard website make sure you write down your make and model of mainboard plus revision number if there is one so you get the right driver .
rev numbers are normally around the edge of board .
