I think it happens a lot when someone dishonest just wants to get laid. Or perhaps once they get to know you, they realize you're not the person they thought you were. The only thing you can do is take your time about getting involved so there aren't as many surprises.

Oh you poor girl- it sounds as if your heart has been broken! Not everybody that we fall for are genuinly good people and not all people know what they want out of life. I find that when they say "I love you" early on, there is usually a selfish motive behind it. I would set my standards way high and write a desciption of the ideal man/woman. By each description you put, rank each on a scale of 1-3.
1. Trait they NEED to have
2. Desirable trait to have
3. "Kick em' to the curb" if they have this trait

When you meet a guy/ girl, compare them to the list you wrote and if the 3's out number the 1's... than you got a serious looser who has every intention to break your heart. THis will teach you to set you standards higher and to see your potential love interests in a different light. and also save you from ALOT of heart break.
Feel better and dont give up on love. You deserve so much better

Because some people get off on messing with people's heads. Seriously, I once knew a group of guys who had this ongoing private joke/competition of sorts to see who could get with the most girls, make them fall, and "destroy" them. They really felt like big strong cool men because of this.
It is a cold, harsh truth that not all people have good intentions. In fact, this may sound cynical, but it is usually much safer to assume that people do not have good intentions until they prove otherwise. In relationships, I would suggest trying to be friends first. Get to know them & their friends. Observe how they treat other women from an insider's prospective before you get involved romantically. I know that this may be easier said than done, but short of not having anything at all to do with romantic relations, it is probably the safest way to go.

This is not unusual, Alot of times people are still growing and maturing. What at one time they found in a person to be what they needed, a year or two down the road all of that may change. Best thing you can do, is get out and refind the World. You just might be surprised, and look back one day and wonder what in the H*** you ever saw in that person yourself.

Because most people have to understand there are no guarantees in life. However hard that maybe to comphrend.

Even when you become married and /or have children. Things just happen and sometimes you just can't control the change..

Time changes people's lifestyles in very many ways.

Everyday there are tons of TV commercials that promise you everything, more money, slimmer, better looking, etc, etc. What is the difference between these products and someone offering you love? Buyer beware.

Some people are confused with their emotions and they don't know how to say lust so they say love. You just have to trust your instinct keep your guard up and realize everyone point of view is different.

People change their minds... It's hardly a revelation. It would be more constructive to ask yourself why you're choosing to fall for such people. You might need to change your behavior pattern.

Juts because they wanted some, and when they get it, they will disappear.

If you don't want that to happen to you again, keep your pants on until you get to know if this person is for real.

Good luck
