This isnt about championships or stats, just pure arm strength, ie. highest velocity, longest long ball, etc.
This is timely because Jemarcus Russell of LSU could easily make this list.
My list.
1. John Elway: The standard by which all measured. Coming out of Stanford, Elway threw bullets 60 yards on the run, had unlimited range on the deep ball and mangled his receivers' hands on medium routes.
2. Steve Bartkowski: In the late 1970s at Cal, Bartkowski famously threw the ball 100 yards.
3. Doug Williams: Nobody threw a prettier deep ball.
4. Brett Favre: In the mid-1990s, this guy moved and fired and could hit any point on the field. Just like Elway, minus a few miles per hour on the fastball.
5. Michael Vick: Tough call. On some throws, he looks like a lefthanded Elway, with unrivaled velocity and distance. But often his passes flutter. Small hands and an inconsistent release point, when it all clicks he can gun it.
Others worth mention: R Cunningham, J George, D Bledso
