do i have to uninstall and then re-install itunes? I have itunes on my desktop, but i can not access it, i keep getting a problem has occured and needs to close, send error report or don't send.

If there is any chance of getting your files back, then I would first try to use a program called Recover My files. You can try it with the trial version, and it will show you if It can find any files before you purchase the program. It will also let you save files up to something like 80kbs. The program only costs $70 and for a technician to do would be a lot more. Some of the big guys like Geek Squad charge about $100 an hour.

What do you mean by "reformat" your pc? If you did a physical disk reformat, then you'd have had to reinstall the operating system and programs before being able to use the computer.

If you mean you ran the disk defragmenting tool, it could be that something got corrupted in certain files. In this case, try uninstalling and then re-installing the software.
