My computer has been giving this burning smell. Im wondering what it is. Is there something wrong? Something burning that i can avoid? Or do i just need to clean things up?

If you know how, open it up and look to see if it's loaded with dirt and dust. The best way to clean it out is with a can of compressed air you can get at Staples or wherever - don't blast the fans with it, though - they will spin too fast and fail. You can also use a paint brush and vacuum cleaner. If it isn't clogged with dust you should take it to a repair shop - it could be a fire hazared.

First thing I would do is: TURN IT OFF! It could be a power supply about to go off or something else frying. If you have some compressed air, try cleaning all the dust out of all the fans, vents, the motherboard, and just the entire case. The dust in the fans could be causing it to get to hot, which could lead to that burning smell.
