It appears i have awoken a toad from hibernation that is living in my window well. It still freezes outside at night but the well is probably slightly warmer now. It is now moving around but does appear to dig itself underground sometimes. Will it survive till spring when i can safely release it, i dont want to just throw it outside in the cold! Any suggestions would be helpful. It is only an inch or so long i dont know what i could feed it or if it will eat?? Thank you!!

take him and put him in an terrarium or a fish tank with some reptile bedding until spring you could go to your pet store and buy feeder crickets he will prolly eat. I did it with a bull frog and turned him loose when spring came
