Portland would be an ideal choice for a franchise relocation, for various reasons:
A). It ranks among the top 30 US metropolitan areas, so they have a large enough population to support a major league team.
B) It would be a natural rival for the Mariners and the Athletics, assuming of course, it's not the A's that move there.
C) It has a rich baseball history, dating back to the old Pacific Coast League.
If an existing MLB franchise chooses to move, Portland should be considered first choice.

No. Baseball is not going to have expansion for quite a while. Also outside of the Florida teams I dont see a team really relocating..and baseball dont like to relocate teams that often, The Washington team being the first to relocate in over 30 years. I also see Portland being behind Vegas, San Antonio, Nashville and Louisville as prospective cities for a team to transfer to.. Portland is a great town but I wouldnt hold my breath on getting a MLB franchise

No because there is no market in Portland for a team right now. I am not putting the city down or anything but the MLB team would not do so well in that area.
I also do not think there is a chance of your city getting a team because there is no team that is willing to move out of there market right now and I dont think there needs to be any expansion teams added to major league baseball

I would say no for right now for two reasons. First, the weather up there is not conducive to playing baseball unless Portland wants to pony up the money to build "Safeco Field South" so to speak- a roof would be mandatory. Second, I don't think that part of the country can support two teams- the TrailBlazers and Supersonics barely co-exist in the NBA- and maybe not for long from the rumors swirling around the Sonics.
I think if the Florida Marlins do move, it will be to San Antonio, Texas. Yes, a smaller market in a hot place, but I think they would revamp the Alamodome to do it.

Not unless Portland has alot of big businesses that are willing to fork over the money for luxury suites. Remember, in the eyes of MLB, its not fans tickets that are the main factor, its selling the suites.
