Im looking for serious answers. don't tell me "a dog". A dog doesn't summon the police if a break-in occurs or doesn't contact the fire department if a fire alarm is set off.
Serious answers about home security, please.

I forgot the name, but it is a two piece system; you pull of an adhesive on one side of the receptor; place it on a window or door, and paste the other one close to it; when the door or window is opened, the two are separated; and the magnets off; setting off the alarm. I forgot the brand name though.
