that was the sadest exhibition of hockey i have ever seen. yeah they did a great job honoring messier. anyway after their come from behind amazing playoff run they should have been a dominator this year. maybe instead of pumping them, it made them depressed cause after akl the hard work..they didn't win the cup. i don't think they're gonna make the playoffs this year and that's just sad. i was routing for them after my team got kicked out by the canes

Edm didnt have a chance to make the playoffs even before trading Smyth. They are simply too far behind Minn. 10 points is too much to make up in the final 18 games, even before they traded away one of their top players. Even my Avs dont have a shot.

Edmonton didn't have a chance of making the playoffs with captain canada!!! Without him, they might not win anothere game.

Edmonton has folded tent I think. Could be strange year in that both of last year's finalists fail to make it to the cup hunt this year.

edmonton trades away:
pronger: one of the best defenceman in the league
peca: great leadership, penalty kill expert
smyth: the cornerstone of the franchise, an elite hockey player
i seriously doubt them making the playoffs, but hey i doubted them last year when they made the playoffs so you never know

no they won't, because they are 10 points back of minnesota for the 8th spot in the west and without ryan smyth i don't think they can make up those points in 18 games.
