The reason for the conflict between Israel and the Arabs is that the Arabs, plain and simple, refuse to accept a Jewish state in their midst. They invented this whole idea of a "Palestinian people who deserve a state" just to use as a tool to dismember Israel.

Arab violence against Jews has been going on long before there was an occupation, long before there was a refugee problem--indeed, long before there was a political Zionist movement.

In 2005 the Israelis left Gaza totally. Five years earlier, they left Lebanon totally.

But it is convenient for the Arabs to ignore this, so they can continue to play the role of underdog.

Prior to partition, Palestinian Arabs did not view themselves as having a separate identity. When the First Congress of Muslim-Christian Associations met in Jerusalem in February 1919 to choose Palestinian representatives for the Paris Peace Conference, the following resolution was adopted:

"We consider Palestine as part of Arab Syria, as it has never been separated from it at any time. We are connected with it by national, religious, linguistic, natural, economic and geographical bonds.

"There is no such country as Palestine! 'Palestine' is a term the Zionists invented! There is no Palestine in the Bible. Our country was for centuries part of Syria."
- Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, a local Arab leader, to the Peel Commission, 1937

The Arabs who now call themselves "Palestinians" do so in order to persuade a misinformed world that they are a distinct nationality and that "Palestine" is their ancestral homeland. But they are no distinct nationality at all. They are the same - in language, custom, and tribal and family ties - as the Arabs of Syria, Jordan, and beyond. There is no more difference between the "Palestinians" and the other Arabs of those countries than there is between, say, the citizens of Minnesota and those of Wisconsin.

do you know how long it would take to answer this question fully.

part of it is that during the six days war in 1967 in which isreal fought against the egyptian army they took land called the gaza strip which is where the palestinian refugees were living. the UN told isreal to give it back but isreal refused and in typical UN style they failed to do anything about it.

but this is only part of it

somehow a solution has to be found which allows both these people to co exist.

theres also another despute over land called the west bank which is occupied by isreal claimed by lebanon and legaly owned by syria(according to the UN) though syria say they dont want this back.

a third piece of land which is part of isreal is called the golan heights but the UN think this should belong to lebanon.

UN resolution 442 says isreal should return to there pre 1967 borders( but as we no what the UN says they never act upon) this would also now be a problem as the jewish isreali population is to big to remain in this area. the land that the UN believe should belong to palestine is only partly owned by isreal and partly owned by Jordan. forcing isreal to give up there land would also mean conflict with jordan as they would also have to give up there land.

basicly for there to be peace palestine would have to be given there home back but this would lead to other conflicts.

Might have a lot to with the Jews being Jewish and the Palestinians being Muslim...Jews claiming the "Holy Land" as promised to the decendants of Abraham and the Muslims (formerly nomadic Arab tribes) being the decendants of Ishmael, Abraham's illegitimate but first-born son, and declaring their right to the "Holy Land". Personally, I can't see why two nations would continue to fight for centuries over a city in the middle of a dessert.

Jews have ALWAYS lived in the area now known as Israel. Right after the UN created Israel in 1948, the Muslim Arabs left their home and attacked Israel. After the war, Israel did not allow its attackers back into Israel. That's where the problem lies.

You must also realize that over 850,000 Jews were expelled from Arab lands after WWII, but that fact is conveniently forgotten by most people.

In my opinion its a belief == they hate each other because each won't believe in the others belief. This has been going on for 100 years and by some chance theirs peace for a little while enjoy it. because it won't last. It seems that each of these people can't stand the fact that the other wont believe in their belief.
