A D & C is when you have to have an emergency abortion due to not being able to carry the child to full term. This is done at the doctor's office by scraping inside. My sister in law had this done a while ago and it was more traumatic then hurtful. Hope this helps.

It is dilation and curettage. The Drs scrape out the inside of your womb. It isnt always for miscarriages, but Dr's can send you for one due to things like cysts or polyps etc.

I don't know what the initials d &c stand for but it is an operation where they go in & scrape out the uterus when it has too much stuff in there & causes a problem that has to be scraped out.

Dilatation and curettage

See website below. It has a lot of info. Bascially, the people I know who have had one have either had a miscarriage or have a fetus inside that has already died (i.e. no heartbeat).
