Today i was playing basketball and some kid threw the ball to hard and it hit me in the nose. i went to the doctors after it began to get very swollen, red, and turn black and blue and he said he didnt know. He said there was nothing I could do even if it was fractured or broken. He thought it was probably fractured. What should i do to ease the pain and keep the swelling down, and help my nose heal quicker? thank you

Ice works to keep the swelling down and ibuprofen for the pain. Most nose doctors won't look at your nose if it is swollen, unless it interferes with breathing. It should take about a week, then I would try to make an appointment with an ear, nose and throat doctor.
