Not pop punk(i.e green day).are there modern bands playing the same style music as black flag or minor threat

THERE WILL ALWAYS BE REAL PUNK BANDS. It's just that most people will not put the time into finding these bands and listen to their music. But anyway you should go to this website and check out these bands.

I don't think that even if there were still some decent true-punk bands out there, that they would even come close to what punk used to be. Noone will ever rival what the Sex Pistols and The Clash started.

I've not found any good ones as of late. I think punk bands are now more underground and are being replaced by House and Rave DJ's. God forbid anyone actually learn to play guitar or drums anymore.

I think that other than extremely underground bands, punk is a movement that has either died or moved into pop punk. It's just not a very popular movement.

Check out a band called The Vapids from Ontario, Canada... great tunes... also Johnny Terrian and the Bad Lieutenants...

A couple off the top of my head...Anti-Flag, NoFX have been around a long time. They're still some out there, you just won't ever hear about them on the TV or on the radio.

absolutely, punk bands, however, are unintresting to most people, so they're not mainstream, but underground, the only music you'll find are metal and punk, depending on where you live.
