I am currently a stay at home mom. I choose to be here with my children, but drive a used car, live in a used home, typically buy "best choice" or "always save" brands instead...I don't want to be materialistic. What matters to me is being here with/for my children. You can't take any material possessions with you when you die, but I can leave a lifetime of memories with my family and friends..THAT'S what matters to me :)

The shear weight of "stuff". I lived for a long time in my car, travelling around Australia, and loved the freedom of having virtually no possessions. The minute I settled down again, the 'stuff' just piled up. I am considering selling everything again and feeling the freedom.

The more 'things' you have, the more you have to worry about.
Keep your eyes on what's necessary, and you can't go wrong.
