One minute you're being told you're not really wanted and being made redundant, then because two staff members have walked out on them, they are being all nice and begging you to stay. And bear in mind this is a very disorganised company which doesn't know how to treat people properly, so I was hoping to be out of there tomorrow as that's when my contract ends, but now it changes things as I can't claim JSA straight away as they are no longer making me redundant, plus I have no other job to go to yet as much as I've been applying over the last few weeks. What would you do in my situation?

Either don't tell the job centre about them asking you back, as they don't usually check this anyway. Simply say 'the contract ended, it was temporary'
OR stay and apply for 50 other jobs, then leave before they find anyone else to cover you
OR return late one night, under the cover of darkness, with a large can of petrol and a family sized box of matches and tell the job centre that your place of work mysteriously burned down. XXX

If they need you that much then put in a few demands of your own. How about a pay rise or a nice desk in the corner?
Stick it out for the time being, the pay is hopefully better than the dole! Look for a job while working and when you get the perfect one tell your boss to shove it!

Make their misfortune, ie losing two people, work for your advantage by staying at the job for awhile longer. This buys you time to look for something else in the meantime. You will still be employed and have income while looking, as opposed to being out of work and needing a new job.

Stay the course until you find the job you want. It's a lot easier to look for work while you have a job.

do u really need the job that bad? i would much rather work for an integral company instead of someplace who implies you're nt wanted or needed. you can always apply for unemployment while waiting to get another job. or call a temp service today, and tell them your situation, they'll have a job for you tomorrow. i would get out of there.

That would depend. Ask yourself:
Have they offered you any incentives to stay?
Can you do the jobs of the people who left?
If not, can you get training to do so?
Are promotions possible?
And finally, Is this job worth it?
If it isn't, find another job ASAP!

Oh my....at first it sounded like I may have submitted that! I'm in a similar situation and I do believe the best thing is to really get your resume out there and don't leave until you find a GOOD place to go....don't leave horrible for horribler!

keep the job, still keep looking for another one and when it comes around then just quit. no warning, nothing just quit. that is what i did with my last one. made me all kinds of promises and never followed through with them and it was awesome when they asked if i was leaving a 2 weeks notice and i told them no. haha they were not happy but f'them, screwed me over way to long...

Stick with what you have until your next oppertunity is set in place and you have a job lined up. Get in touch with an employment agency, they might be able to find you something quicker.
