You would keep yourself out of a lot of trouble. Everyone gets in trouble with their mouth at one point or another.
Also, you would learn a lot. If everyone just listened - you would see a lot of different sides to things.

If you mean only you( I mean any one person) keeping quite, it will be a difficult at first, frusturating for sometime, may fail also. But if you get used to that ... will be a great experience - for you at the least. Try it one day. you will definitely see. It is something to be experienced.
If you mean to be part f a place of total silence ... then it is bliss!

Ask the monks who live in Catholic monasteries...I believe they still have some sects of the Catholic Church that follow St. Benedict's rules.
