It won't make it any harder... just bring your passport and a copy of your marriage license. You may also need another form of ID, such as your driver's license.
I mailed mine in, they changed the name and mailed it back.

it depends on when the old one was issued. if issued less than one year ago, you can use DS-5504, assuming you qualify. If more than one year ago, it would be DS-82, assuming you qualify.
