do you belive by thanking god is a kind of pray that could work , rather than using the one he told us in his books?
I feel it more than the religious one, i'm not religious plus people who teach me i dont trust them they say something and not donig what they say, i do what i believe in whithout saying. Only by religion praying is acceptable??, so i'm asking to tell me if i'm right. I appreciate your help , Thanks.

I agree with you completely. I also agree that you can't believe something just because someone tells you that you should.
Do what makes you feel closer to God, not what someone tells you to do.
When you pray talk to God and tell Him what is on your mind. Ask for guidance like you would ask a trusted friend. Then be still and listen.
You may be surprised at what you hear.
The people who don't understand prayer always tell you words to say but never tell you to listen. Listening is the most important part.
Love and blessings Don

I am assuming you are Christian you really didn't specify which God so I can only tell you in regards to the God that I know to be the only true God. Of course religious prayers are not the only way to pray. I pray often in my head because I have the spirit of God inside of me I believe I don't even have to speak for him to hear me. He is a BIG BIG GOD.
And thanking God in advance for something that you are believing for is awesome I do that too. It shows that you have faith and trust in Him. As to your concerns about religion just think about Jesus dealt with the religious leaders of his time the Pharisees and Sadducees. Jesus did not come to bring us more religion He came to Bring life and life more abundantly.
I think one of the best books on prayer I ever read was Dutch Sheets Intercessory Prayer also the prayer of Jabez is good too I'd start with that. Also you should study and meditate on the Lord's Prayer it was Jesus's example of how to pray when the disciples asked him how they should pray.
Ultimately your prayer life with God is just as personal and individual as your relationship to him. I hope this gives you something to think about and possible helps answer some of your questions. Please forgive me if you are not a Christian or I have offended you with my answer. I don't know if you can repost a question or a comment in case you have more. I may just go back and change my yahoo profile so you can email me if you have any more questions which I might be able to help lead you to the answer.

Yes, I believe by thanking God is an excellant start and finish to any prayer. You should really mean it by heart. The "Our Father" that is told in the Bible is meant as an example of prayer. You should always pray from your heart, and not rehearsed words or phrases. God is not a robot, He's a living Being.......best of luck to you.

i don't really undersand your question, but I'll take a shot. I think thanking G-d is a form of accepting G-d. And I think that is all she wants. A typical prayer is asking for something in return. You pray for health, safety, or food. All of these are asking for something. Thanking G-d needs no response. So, it probably is more meaningful, or personal. Just like thanking someone for doing something nice is meaningful or personal.

Saying the words and believing in the words are to
seperate things. I am not religious yet I will also
utter'thank god'. I don't consider it praying.I also agree with you about those religious people who say one thing and do another. That's why I am not religious. I just can't be hipocrates like them.

I have always prayed in more own words...never using Christ's words that he used when he prayed. His prayers were meant as an example of HOW to pray, not a prayer to be taken verbatim.
1. "Our Father, who art in Heaven..." Address god, as you are praying to hiim.
2. "...hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in Earth as it is in Heaven..." Acknowledge His hand in all things, and thank him for the blessings you recieve.
3. "...Give us this day our daily bread..." ask for those blessings that you need
4. "...forgive us our trespasses...lead us not into temptation..." ask for forgiveness of sins, and plead for the strength to stay away from sin (be specific.)
5. "...for Thine is the kingdom and power and glory forever, Amen." End in the name of the savior (Jesus Christ)...so be it.
These are steps to prayer. Your simple prayers that come from your heart are what He wants to hear....not 2000 year old memorized platitudes.

I agree thanking GOD will help us. While thanking god we remember all positive things that happened that day for us. So that positive thinking increases. It is nice habit to remember all good thinks happened for us.
So irrespective of GOD exists or it helps human beings.
Thanks,
