There are many hotels in the 2 to 4 star range with prices starting from 34 euros.
If you go to this directory you can sort the prices and locations by using the filter, then compare results by digging deep into the offers. Many offer free inclusions at the last minute.
It's important wo work out where you wantto stay in the City to save on time and transportation costs - since your time and budget will likely be precious.
The hotel prices are not far from the hostel prices with added facilities, particularily if there aer two travelling as prices are per room, not per bed.
Hope this helps

I recommend you stay in a hostel, these days they're clean, comfortable, and safe - plus you will meet loads of others who want to also see the sights and enjoy the city...plus you will be in the center of the city near the attractions, and only have to pay about €10 euros a night!
some of them have single, double, or triple private rooms too!
I've put links below so you can have a look ....
Also, I recommend you take the tour of St Peters Basilica, Vatican Museums, and Sistine Chapel by Rome Revealed (or Enjoy Rome) - it's the best way to get the most out of it and appreciate what you're looking at!
Happy Trails, Rome is a fantastic ciity
