I was able to log onto myspace just fine with my password...so how would it be invalid when I went to go unlock it?

"Phishing" is when somebody sends you a link to a page pretending to be MySpace, and you login there with your password thinking you are logging in normally. Instead your password has been recorded by somebody else... then it would do something like refer you to the actualy myspace login saying you typoed or something.

Has this happened to you?

Getting a password out of the average MySpace user is not a difficult task. But to be honest, phishing for MySpace is kindof pointless... you get nothing from it. "Phishing" is more lucrative when using banking and investing sites.

I suspect it is far more likely Caps-Lock was on when you tried to enter your password, or something like that.
