why does it say creator:simon fuller in the credits, is that simon cowells other name?

ok i guess i was just wondering if simon cowell sort of has more seniority behind the scenes than randy and paula but I think Im understanding it better now

American Idol is screened on the Fox Network in the United States and on CTV in Canada.[1] It was created by Simon Fuller (manager of the Spice Girls and S Club 7) and developed by Simon Jones of Thames Television. Simon Fuller is given credit for creating American Idol...however, Simon Cowell had something to do with it I believe. In addition, American Idol is a child of Pop Idol an English TV show just as popular there as Idol is here. Simon Cowell had something to do with that one too. Simon Fuller is his partner-- so, Simon is more than he seems on this show I think.
You should also know that Simon Cowell is responsible for Teletubbies, the Irish band Westlife and Il Divo, the operatic, pop-singing quartet, he created a television show in England called "The X-Factor," which proved so popular it prevented the British version of "Idol" from getting back on the air,

Simon Fuller is the creator and producer of American Idol. Simon Cowell is a judge. American Idol is somewhat of a spin off of the UK's Pop Idol where Simon Cowell started as a judge and was big time in the entertainment business.
