Tom is just the "face" of MySpace. He is only one member of the team. He is not even the president of the company, which is this guy: http://www.myspace.com/chrisdewolfe . Myspace doesn't disclose financial information, but Tom is a millionaire because of it.

Well Fox spent $580 million to buy all of Myspace, including their parent company, InterMix. Intermix does 30-odd sites, of which MySpace is just the most salient object in the deal.

So I'm sure that Tom and the rest of the leadership got a healthy cut of that. Don't worry though, Fox is keeping everything as it is-- they just love the marketing possibilities, as well as being able to directly study the digital market. You gotta spend money to make money, right?

I know that this wasn't a direct answer, but it's interesting enough information and it's all I could pull up.
