In my life I've found that my relationship with Jesus the only lasting change toward true joy. The things of this world make me happy, but they pass away and don't last. Jesus can give you a lasting joy that can only be found in having a relationship with him. Check out the Bible, it has the true answers to your questions.

What has made me happy is not worrying about things when they are unnecessary. I am happy for many reasons, I have a wonderful boyfriend (of 3 and a half years) who puts me before everything. My best friend Andy, who is there through thick and thin and would never question my character, is great. And music. I've played the trumpet and french horn for almost 7 years now. It is something that has greatly impacted my life. It opened me up to many different and wise people. As well as showing me different types of music and enabling me to be incredibly open minded about pretty much everything. Basically what has made me a happier life is by doing and believing in the things that make me who I am. I am Atheist, and not believing in any god/higher being (whatever) hasn't made me feel lost or anything like that. I absolutely love to read, especially because I love to learn. Another thing that has made me happier is moving back here to Washington State (From Florida). For one this is where my boyfriend and I grew up, and I came back to my best friend. I missed the beauty of this place, as nature is very important to me, as well as wildlife. Just looking at the mountains, ocean, trees, anything just makes me feel at ease and very happy to be alive to be able to experience such a view. Anyway, I'm not sure what kind of response you were expecting and I kind of just ended up going on a limb. :p What have you done? What makes you, you?

I've gone through a very tough time medically lately, at times feeling like I've been deserted by everyone. In one phase of my experience, I LITERALLY was...not by my actions. I just WAS. I felt like, although my faith tells me otherwise, that I was deserted by God. I had to ask God to prove he was there and I had to test the new people in my physical medical treatment who said they were---something I normally wouldn't do. My new people have proven themselves and I am happier. I had to learn to not be afraid to test things and people when neccessary. I had to learn that sometimes to survive, you have to depend on YOU and pray that God and those who are supposed to be there to help you "fall in line." This philosophy has worked for me so far, and I know all concerned are "now in the same boat."

positive thinking.... it's corny but true. when you're a positive person, positive things happen to you. your whole aura is different and you attract positive energy. what you put out is what you get back! =)
