I have to get a colposcopy along with a biopsy this next friday...someone told me that it really hurts..true? or is there just discomfort?

and no i dont mean a colonoscopy...i mean a colposcopy....a procedure u should go through after having an abnormal results from a pap smear

If you mean a colonoscopy, it does not really hurt.
Most knock you out before hand.
Have you had anal sex before?
If so, when they are done it will feel like that.

Opps, sorry that was a new term for me.... but here is some info.

I had one done year and a half ago, and it felt like a rougher pap (if there could be such a thing) they will wipe this junk on your cervix that will remind you of your period, but it's just the antibiotic stuff ( can't remember the exact name) You need to have it done, take some motrin before you go to the MD's and perhaps they will give you some pain killers afterwards. You may have some abnormal cramping after the biopsy, the colpo isn't what makes the pain

either way its really important that you go through it no matter how painful it may be. My coach died of colon cancer because she didn't catch the cancer soon enough. Don't worry about the pain. It's something that could save your life.
