Create raised beds with RR ties and grow them in Pro-Mix. (Ask a local greenhouse if you can buy some of their Pro-Mix the next time they order a shipment.) Water them with rainwater collected off your roof. Fertlize with Miracid, (not Miracle Grow, but made by the same company.) Protect from deer. Remember, CAN'T never could do anything.

Only if you are growing them on a sulfur dump in the Jemez!

No, the soil here is way too alkaline and trying to change the soil to more acidic soil will release way too much salt.

You can attempt to grow them in large containers, with soilless mixes and use adicifying fertilizer.......but the alkaline water will always be your problem. The effort you put into them will be more expensive than just buying fresh ones in the store when they are on sale.
