I gave someone a gift subscription to an on-line dvd rental for 2 months, and he must have called the place complaining every single day if things did not go perfectly, then he would put everything off until he watched each movie as they came in so he could return them as fast as possible.

As for returning, he made his girlfriend go out of her way to mail the dvd's near her work because he thought they would get there faster.

Is this normal behavior?

For a psychotic, it's fairly normal.

I typically don't maximize my value. Sometimes hold movies for a week or two before I watch them. I just don't have the time to watch them as soon as they arrive. When I can, I do then mail them right back.

Not really. I've been a Netflix member for six years and I don't freak out like that. I've been known to return a movie quickly so I can get it back in by Monday, but that is so I can get a movie that is being released on Tuesday before it goes into "Really Long Wait." In your friend's case, he probably realized he only had 2 months and we wanted to get as much out of that time as possible. He probably wouldn't be so bad if he had his own subscription.
