the sky is blue because of Rayleigh scattering. As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air. However, much of the shorter wavelength light is absorbed by the gas molecules. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you. Since you see the blue light from everywhere overhead, the sky looks blue. Grass is green because of chlorophyll and the in the universe, there are trillions of galaxies, we just happen to live in one: the Milky Way galaxy. Which is 100,000 light years across. A light year is 5,000,000,000,000 miles long, so 100,000 x 5,000,000,000,000 gives you the amount of miles across our galaxy. Think of our galaxy as a fried egg. In the middle is the yolk, which is the galactic core, and our solar system resides on the white plane of the egg. Orbiting around the galactic core. Which by the way is a supermasssive black hole. A black hole is like a bathtub drain. Just email me if you want more answers. I love astronomy. Its so cool.

The sky is blue because the molecules of air scatter the blue rays from the sun. (It's even blue in the middle of the country far from ocean reflections.) Grass is green because it absorbs other colors and the chlorophyll reflect the green light. And the galaxy is big because it formed that way shortly after the big bang which produced a lot of matter which condensed into large groups of stars called galaxies.

The sky is blue because gases in the atmosphere refract light and blue wavelength is refracted more than the others. The grass is green because of the pigment chlorophyll which is used to absorb sunlight. The galaxy is big because there is a lot of matter in it.

The sky appears to be blue because blue light from the sun strikes the air molecules and scatters and our eyes perceive it as blue. The grass is green because of the chlorophyll in it. As for the size of the galaxy, who knows?

The sky is blue because of the light bouncing off of the water. the grass is green because of clorofill a substance that creates food for the plant cells when given water, carbon dioxide and sunlight. No one knows why the galaxy is so big

Blue is a heavenly color.
Grass is green because its absorsption energy matches the color of the sun's radiation energy. Its a perfect power transfer match.
Galxies are big because from far away they appear as stars.
One star alone like our sun would not be visible from far out space.
So by making smaller star but in larger numbers more radiation of light paricles would occur giving greatere brightness than one single star.

Oh my God!!! You must be color blind!!! My dear the sky is not blue, it's orange, and the grass is yellow. It must be pretty hard for you to realize all of this here and now, told by a complete stranger, what a pity but that's just life.

Good luck to you
