If you can bother to read this, I hope to get your opinion. There's a Spanish terrorist who was in prison for comitting 25 murders, sentenced to about 2000 years. He went on a hunger strike and now he has been FREED. The Spanish "ministro del interior" (i think that's the home secretary) decided he would finish his sentence "at home". After finding out that his fellow ETA terrorists had murdered a couple, leaving children behind, this man said in a statement that "the victim's family's tears are what he lives for, and that their sorrow is his happiness". He had sex with his girlfriend in the hospital bathroom when he was supposedly so starved he was near death. And yet the Spanish government have decided to set this cold blooded killer free. Is his life worth more than that of all their hostages and victims? Has the world gone mad? Are there no morals anymore? Or is the Spanish government being blackmailed by ETA?

it's true that the current Spanish government has no backbone. They were only voted in because the bombings were supposedly a result of Spanish troops being in Iraq, so people voted the old government out and got in the socialists who promised to take out the troops, but are messing up the country even more than it was.

James M, why would i bother asking if it weren't true? I'm sorry ut I think I know more on this subject than you do. I KNOW ETA exists because they want independence. If you don't believe the story, investigate it for yourself. I know, it's so ridiculous it's unbelievable.

That's a shame........he should have starved to death. If was was a family member, I would have been waiting outside the prison with a rifle. If they'd arrest me, then I'd quit eating as well. Best of luck to you.

The SPanish government has and will always be Spinless! They caved in on the train bombings, and caved in on pulling their troops from Iraq, not that we need dishwashers!

First, I doubt this story is true and secondly ETA [which I do not rate as a terrorist organisation] only exists because the aspirations of the Basques for an independence have not been met.

I think that they are competing with the French to determine who has the least backbone in Europe. And they wonder why their subways get bombed.

Personally, I would have let him starve to death. It's a very slow death and he deserves it.

Typical of any government.
If we were harder on criminals they wouldn't commit the crimes (ok, some wouldn't).
