Sorry to say , but racial profiling is soooo not a myth. I do have relatives in law enforcement and other legal professions who have told me stories over the years, and it's sad, but true. However some people tend to think racial profiling helps fight crime, when I think it causes problems. It goes back to the old saying " You can't judge a book by it's cover". Here it is 2007 and people are still behind the times when it comes to using their brains. :)

Racial profiling and bigotry are definitely real and it isn't likely they'll disappear anytime soon. And some black americans do complain for no reason at all, but then so do people from every background. Overall though, I think race relations have improved a lot in the last 20 years.

Racial profiling and bigotry certainly exist in 2007. They will stop existing when various races and ethnic groups don't distinguish themselves in any way from the others.
Consider: Most of the best students in math classes are Asians.
Consider: Suicide bombing is more likely to be perpetrated by a Moslem than by a Jew or Christian.
Consider: In the USA, prison populations are disproportionately black.
Consider: In the USA, "white collar" crimes are disproportionately committed by whites.
We'll stop having racial profiling and bigotry when statements like the ones I've made above are completely untrue. Sorry.

I'm White, and I freely admit that racial profiling exists. I see it almost daily, and I even read about it in the newspaper. About once a week there's a story about a drug bust on the NYS Thruway. They are almost always Black or Hispanic, and they're pulled over for going 75 mph. EVERYBODY on the NYS Thruway does 75 mph! In New Jersey, whenever I see a White driver pulled over it's a single police car. But, if the driver is Black there is almost always 2 or 3 police cars.

Of course racial profiling is real. A more important question is Why does it exist? The black race is profiled because it commits far more crime than any other race per capita & soaks the welfare system to the core. The race card is played sometimes? You may be one of the few whom do not play it constantly. What do you have against "THAT"?

Racial profiling is just good common sense. Blacks which are 13% of the population commit over 50% of the serious felonies. If a black robs a convenience store who are the police going to start looking for,an Albanian Dwarf????

I don't see how anyone could say racial profiling is a myth. There have been police forces that ADMIT they use racial profiling. Anyone who thinks it's not real has completely buried their head in the sand.

there is profiling,,but it never racist ,,just to get blacks or hispanics,,etc,,,becuase they want to oppress them
they will take statistics of an area what people look like and act like that commit this or that crime
like most high end drug runners in California are Mexicans,,becuase the gangs control it,,,,,the ACLU is actually making it harder for cops to do thier job without getting fired for racial 'profiling' it's never racist these days just the fact that in lot of areas blacks and hispanics make up the majority of the criminals
you live in a high crime area and you hang out with the wrong people,,or act like them,,,what do you expect
